The customer had no working key left. We made a new one in one visit, in about an hour — no tow truck, no dealer appointment.
Adding a spare key to an Audi is routine work. All keys lost is a completely different job. When there is no key left to read, there is nothing to copy from — the key data has to be recovered from the vehicle itself.
On this Q5 that meant the BCM2 body control module: out of the car, onto the bench, opened and read properly. That is the point where most shops stop. It takes dealer-level equipment, a current software subscription and a technician who has done this work before. The usual alternative is a tow to the dealer and a long wait.

About one hour, on site in Thornton. One visit: no tow, no dealer appointment, no waiting on a part. The customer drove away with two keys again — this time they kept the spare.
Ask us for a spare before you need it. A second key takes minutes when you still have one working key.
We do this work for other locksmiths and companies across Denver who do not carry this equipment. Call and ask for the car key bench.
