Home lockouts, and what caused them
Most lockouts are a door that is fine and a key that is not. A few are hardware that has finally given up — and those need a second job on the spot.

Keys locked inside
The classic — the door is fine, the keys are on the table. Opened without damage in most cases.

Keys lost
Locked out with no key at all? We open the door, then rekey or cut a new key before we leave.

Broken key in the lock
Half a key stuck in the cylinder. We remove it and get the door working again.

Lock will not open
A deadbolt that turns but will not release, or a handle that has failed. Opened, and replaced if needed.

Apartment & condo
Unit lockouts with ID checked, and the building manager called where the rules require it.

Securing up after
If the lock cannot be saved we fit a new one the same visit, so the house is never left open.
What happens when you call
Call with the address
Tell us which door and whether you own or rent. If you rent we may need the landlord told — we will explain.
Price agreed on the call
You hear the price before a van moves, and it does not change when we arrive.
Opened, and checked with you
ID checked on arrival, door opened with the least damage possible, then tested with you before we leave.
Before you call
Have photo ID and something tying you to the address — a lease, a closing statement or a utility bill. If you rent, check whether your lease wants the landlord told. Note the nearest cross-streets for the technician, and tell us if anyone is inside who needs help.
While you wait
Do not force the door or attack the lock — that is how a quick opening becomes a replacement. If the property is standing open, or something is damaged, say so on the call and we will treat it as priority.
What affects the price
The lock
A standard deadbolt is usually straightforward. High-security, electronic or damaged locks take longer.
How it is locked
A locked knob is not a deadbolt, and a deadbolt barred from inside changes the job.
Whether it needs replacing
Most lockouts are just an opening. Some locks fail and need parts — quoted before we do the work.
The time
Overnight and holiday call-outs are priced as emergencies, and we always say which one you are being quoted.

House lockout questions
Can you open my door without damaging it?
In most cases yes — standard residential locks are opened non-destructively. If a lock is high-security or already damaged we tell you before we touch it.
How quickly can you get here?
It depends where you are in the metro. We give you an honest arrival window on the call, and call again if it slips.
Do I need to prove I live there?
Yes. We check ID against the address before opening the door — for everyone’s protection, including yours.
I rent — can you still open it?
Usually, but some leases require the landlord’s permission first. Tell us when you call and we will advise.
What if the lock is broken and cannot be opened?
We open the door by the least invasive method, and if the lock cannot be saved we fit a replacement the same visit.
Do you work overnight and at weekends?
Yes — same-days, seven days, holidays included. Emergency hours are quoted as such, and agreed before dispatch.
Locked out of your house?
One call, a price agreed on the phone, and a van on the way.
