Rekey or change your locks — same visit
Just moved in, lost a key, or had a tenant leave? Rekeying makes every old key useless while your existing locks stay where they are. If the hardware itself is failing, we replace and fit. Both done at your address in one visit.

Two different jobs — which one do you need?
Most people ask for a lock change when a rekey is what they actually need. Worth knowing the difference before you pay for either.

Rekey
We change the pins inside the lock so it only works with a new key. Your old keys stop working, your hardware stays put, and it usually costs less. The right answer for a new home, a lost key or a departed tenant.

Replace
When the lock itself is worn, sticking, damaged or too cheap to trust, we supply and fit a new one — deadbolt, knob, lever or handle set.

Upgrade
Going from builder-grade hardware to something solid, or adding a keypad or smart lock while we are there.

All to one key
Rekey every exterior door to the same new key, so you are not hunting through a bunch of keys.
What happens when you call
Count your doors
Tell us roughly how many locks and whether they are knobs, deadbolts or lever sets — a photo helps and we confirm on arrival.
Quote before we come
You hear the price before a van is dispatched. New hardware, if needed, is quoted with it.
Done in one visit
Most homes are rekeyed in a single visit; new keys are cut on site and we check every door with you before we leave.
Before you call
Have photo ID and something tying you to the address — a lease, a closing statement or a utility bill. If you rent, check whether your lease wants the landlord told. Note the nearest cross-streets for the technician, and tell us if anyone is inside who needs help.
While you wait
Do not force the door or attack the lock — that is how a quick opening becomes a replacement. If the property is standing open, or something is damaged, say so on the call and we will treat it as priority.
What affects the price
How many locks
One door or eight. Each cylinder is a separate rekey, and we count them with you rather than guessing.
Lock type
Standard residential cylinders are quick. Mortise sets, high-security cylinders and older hardware take longer.
Rekey or replace
A rekey keeps your existing hardware, so it is the cheaper route. Replacement means parts, which we quote up front.
Extras
New keys, extra copies, mailbox or padlock cylinders and any new hardware are itemised before we start.

Rekey & lock change questions
What is the difference between rekeying and changing a lock?
Rekeying changes the pins inside your existing lock so only the new keys work — the lock stays on the door and costs less. Changing a lock means replacing the hardware itself, which you need when the lock is worn, damaged or not worth keeping.
Will the old keys really stop working?
Yes. After a rekey the previous keys no longer turn the cylinder. That is the whole point of doing it after a move, a lost key or a tenant leaving.
Can every door be rekeyed to one key?
Almost always — exterior doors on the same property can usually be set to a single new key. Tell us on the call and we confirm what your locks allow.
How long does it take?
Most homes are finished in a single visit, often within an hour or less on site, depending on how many locks there are and what type.
Do I need to be there?
Yes — we rekey with the owner or an authorised person present, and we check every door with you before we leave.
Can you rekey a lock I already own, or one I bought?
Yes. We rekey existing hardware, and we can fit and rekey a new lock you have bought — though if you would rather we supply it, we carry common cylinders and deadbolts.
Want your locks rekeyed?
One call, one visit — and the old keys stop working the same day.
