Safe opening — without wrecking the safe
Lost the combination, lost the key, or the keypad died with the safe locked? We open home and business safes by the least invasive method available — and put most of them back into service rather than replacing them.
- Homes & businesses
- Lost combination
- Electronic & dial
- Least damage possible
Safe will not open?
Give us the make, model and whether it is electronic or dial — that decides the method and the price.
- Combination lost or never passed on
- Key-locked safes with the key gone
- Electronic locks with dead keypads
- Safes left locked by a previous owner
Safes people get stuck with
Almost every safe we open is a legitimate owner who lost the means to get in — the combination, the key, or the power. Here is what that looks like.

Lost combination
Dial or push-button, forgotten or never given to you. Opened, and where possible reset to a code of your choosing.

Electronic locks
Flat batteries and dead keypads are the most common call — frequently sorted without drilling at all.

Key-locked safes
The override key is lost, or the lock has failed. Opened, with the lock replaced if it cannot be saved.

Pre-owned safes
Bought a safe, or moved into a property with one, and it is locked? We get it open.

Jammed & damaged
Bolts stuck out, or something jammed in the door. Opened carefully to avoid making it worse.

After it is open
New lock, new key, new combination, or a service so the safe goes back into daily use.
What happens when you call
Describe the safe
Make, model, size and lock type, plus a photo of the door and the lock if you can — that tells us the likely method.
Method and price agreed
We set out the options and what each involves, including the chance of drilling, before any work starts.
Opened, then put right
We open it, then fit a new lock or set a new combination so the safe is usable again.
Before you call
Have photo ID and something tying you to the address — a lease, a closing statement or a utility bill. If you rent, check whether your lease wants the landlord told. Note the nearest cross-streets for the technician, and tell us if anyone is inside who needs help.
While you wait
Do not force the door or attack the lock — that is how a quick opening becomes a replacement. If the property is standing open, or something is damaged, say so on the call and we will treat it as priority.
What affects the price
The safe and the lock
A basic key-locked cabinet is a different job from a fire-rated safe with an electronic lock.
Electronic or mechanical
Dials and keypads fail in different ways, and the opening method differs with them.
What is inside
If the safe holds paperwork or anything fragile, we allow for that in how we open it.
What it needs afterwards
A new lock or key is part of the job, and we tell you the cost before we start rather than after.
Safes across the metro
We open safes at homes and businesses across Denver and the metro:
Often needed with it
7 days a week emergency locksmith
Safe locked out of hours, or a business that cannot open.
Safe opening questions
Can you open a safe without the combination?
Yes — that is the usual reason we are called. We match the method to the safe and tell you in advance whether drilling is likely.
Will the safe be ruined?
Most safes are opened and put back into service with a new lock or combination. A minority cannot avoid drilling, and we say so before we begin.
Can you come to my house?
Yes. We open home safes, gun safes and lock boxes as well as business safes.
Does the safe need to come to you?
No — it is opened where it is, and if it is bolted down we work on it in place.
How long does it take?
Many safes are opened in a single visit. Complex or damaged ones take longer, and we tell you which you have.
Do I need to prove it is mine?
Yes. We check ownership and ID before opening a safe, exactly as you would expect us to.
Need a safe opened?
Tell us the make and model — we will set out the options and the price.
